Digital payments should be simple: you send, you receive, and you move on with your day. Scammers look for ways to slip into that moment and redirect your funds. The good news is that protecting your transactions doesn’t take technical skill, just a few steady habits. At RedotPay, we work to protect your transactions around the clock, but the strongest defense is always an informed user. Here’s how to send funds with confidence.
Most mistakes happen in the final second before you hit send. If it’s a new recipient, confirm their details through a trusted source first.
Be extra careful with crypto wallet addresses. A type of malware known as a clipboard hijacker can quietly swap a copied address for an attacker’s, so what you paste isn’t what you copied.
Two habits to stop it in its tracks: compare the first 6 and last 6 characters of the pasted address against the original, and use QR codes when you can, since scanning skips the clipboard entirely. For a large transfer, send a small test amount first and confirm it arrives before sending the rest.
Scammers rely on urgency, a “problem” with your account or a reward that disappears in minutes, so you act before you think. Genuine services won’t punish you for taking time to verify. If a message pressures you to move fast, that’s your cue to slow down.
Never share one-time passcodes (OTP), PINs, or your seed phrase, even with someone claiming to be from RedotPay or a “partner.” These are the keys to your funds, and no real support team needs them.
Many threats reach you through the device itself. Only install apps from official sources and remove browser extensions you don’t recognize. Keep your app and phone software up to date, and turn on protections like biometrics.
Knowing the limits of a trusted service is its own layer of protection. We will never ask you for:
