Construire un système financier meilleur et plus inclusif

We were established to address what we saw as shortcomings in traditional finance, caused by a lack of connectivity with blockchain technology. Too often, everyday people were put at a disadvantage by having to rely on old, expensive systems for payments, transfers, and currency access.

For decades, money has moved around the world in the same way, with the same limitations. Blockchains and the stablecoin networks built on them are starting to change that.

Now, money is starting to move more efficiently, across borders and banking hours. And it’s doing this at scale, faster and less expensive than ever before. Sending money across the world is becoming the same as sending it across the street.

Our new brand video, “Everyday life, powered by stablecoins”

Behind every RedotPay transaction is a real person paying for groceries, covering rent, or sending funds home from abroad. They’ve chosen to use a stablecoin-powered finance app because it gives them USD exposure, a better way to hold and spend funds, or is simply more convenient than local options.

A frequent criticism of the crypto industry is that it’s speculative and exclusive, designed to benefit the few who enjoy privileged information, special perks, and velvet-rope access. It’s hard not to see why, with tickets for major industry events topping out at $5,000 for the VIP tier.

Our mission is different. We want to build an inclusive platform that makes finance easier and less expensive for everyone. This is a true use case with a huge, addressable market – especially if we earn trust through regulatory compliance and transparency.

How we’re earning trust

For our part, we’re working hard to put the foundational pieces in place to follow a regulated, responsible path. Here’s what we’ve built so far, and where we go from here.

We’ve spent the past year strengthening our compliance. After completing annual audits via smaller firms since our founding, this year we engaged Big Four firms to complete our financial audit and an independent review of our AML/CFT controls.

We also received our first US state Money Transmitter License and secured our first two state lending licenses, with further applications pending in more than 20 states. We currently hold licenses or registrations around the world. In the near future, we’ll be expanding our regulated footprint through acquisition.

The question that matters now

Last month, we wrote that stablecoin cards had gone mainstream. Industry spending volume has only grown since.

Growth like that is easy to take for granted. So here’s the question we think matters now: will stablecoin cards grow further, or level off as a niche success story?

That comes down to a choice the whole industry now faces. One path is regulated and inclusive. It aims to serve as many users as possible, and gain trust through regulatory accountability. The other is unregulated and exclusive, focused on power users from a niche group — quicker in the near term but self-limiting.

We’re choosing the regulated, inclusive path, because we think it’s the best way to reach the billions of people still paying too much, and waiting too long, to move their money. That path may be more difficult, but it’s the way we achieve mass adoption and real scale.
